Dr. John M. Greenler is the Director of Education for the Wisconsin Energy Institute (WEI) and the Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center (GLBRC), which receives major funding from the U.S. Department of Energy and focuses on the national development of next-generation (cellulosic) sustainable biofuels. Previous to joining WEI and GLBRC, Dr. Greenler was faculty in the Biology Department at Beloit College and served as a director for the BioQUEST Curriculum Consortium. He earned his PhD from UW-Madison, and his research has ranged from plant molecular biology to restoration ecology. He has taught in multiple capacities, including undergraduate courses, study abroad in East Africa, and professional development for K-16 educators.
