Prof. Kazyak's research is focused on making the way we convert, store, use energy more sustainable. He is particularly interested in:
- Enabling next-generation "beyond-lithium" batteries through advanced materials and interface design.
- Understanding the coupled electro-chemo-mechanics that dictate behavior of solid-state electrochemical devices with multi-modal operando characterization across length-scales
- Improving the end-of-life prospects of lithium batteries toward a more circular materials economy
- Controlling and optimizing interfaces in advanced structural material manufacturing
