Jennifer Detlor is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. She holds a B.S. in Mathematics, Chemisry, and English, an M.S. in Engineering Mechanics, and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, all from UW-Madison. Her doctoral research focused on cryogenics. Currently Dr. Detlor teaches core, large-enrollment courses across the undergraduate curriculum. She enjoys mentoring students through hands-on research experiences and classroom innovation, supporting their growth as engineers. Her current research interests center on engineering education, particularly the development of interactive tools for the classroom and strategies to support recruitment and retention of underserved student populations.
