Prof. Knezevic and her group members work on the theory and computer simulation of the interaction of charge carriers, lattice vibrations, and electromagnetic waves in nanoscale systems. We collaborate with several experimental groups. Our work has been supported by DOE, NSF, and AFOSR. Current research topics include:
- Quantum and semiclassical electronic transport in semiconductor nanostructures
- Heat transport at the nanoscale. Nanostructured thermoelectrics
- Decoherence and relaxation in nanostructures; transient and high-frequency phenomena
- Multiphysics simulation (self-consistent coupling of electronic+electromagnetic+thermal phenomena)
- Nanophotonics, nanoplasmonics, and quantum optics
- Exciton transport in organic solar cells
