Profile Summary

My current research interests involve the design, growth, and fabrication of wide bandgap semiconductor materials and devices including power electronic devices, light-emitting diodes, laser diodes, solar cells, and photodetectors. These devices have applications in power conversion systems, solid-state lighting, displays, photovoltaics, and many other areas. An underlying goal of my research is to understand the influence of defects and microstructure on material properties and ultimately device performance. I am particularly interested in the growth of wide bandgap semiconductor materials and devices by metalorganic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD). This technique can be used to create complex multilayer structures with monolayer precision, enabling the development of high-performance electronic and photonic devices for a wide variety of applications.
