Optics at small scale. Optical technologies for energy conversion, imaging/sensing, communication.
1.Photon management for energy conversion: primary interest is to study new mechanisms to improve energy conversion efficiency.
2.Semiconductor photonics: the integration of nanophotonics with semiconductors for advanced optoelectronic devices, specifically angular detectors for 3D light field sensing, and advanced single photon detectors.
3.Near and far field thermal radiation: using thermal extraction for effective radiative cooling and also study fundamental physics of thermal radiation from nano structures and nano materials.
4. Nonreciprocal photonics and optical isolators: new physics in nonreciprocal nanophotonics and its applications.
