Profile Summary
Our interdisciplinary team (students, post-docs, professionals, collaborators, communities, citizens, and myself) are working on research/education in environmental/ecological/fluid flows and water resources science/engineering interacting with human activities under changing climate. A trans-disciplinary approach with nature and natural-based solutions is employed to address grand challenges and emerging issues in a variety of topics including
- Exploration/understanding, risk assessment/communication, and adaptation/mitigation for meteotsunamis, freak waves, dangerous currents, and extreme waves
- Coastal resilience and sustainability: erosion risk assessment, innovative solutions, and sustainable management for bluff, shoreline, and nearshore environment
- Cyberinfrastructures or observatories for environmental monitoring
