Industrial and Systems Engineering
Xin Wang holds a B.E. in Automation Engineering (Tsinghua University, China, 2010), M.S. in Applied Mathematics (University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, 2012), M.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering (University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, 2014), and Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering (University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, 2015). He has been on the faculty of the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison since August 2015. Meanwhile, he is affiliated with the the Grainger Institute for Engineering, and also holds a courtesy appointment in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
His research interest lies in developing mathematical models and solution methods for
- Sustainable and resilient logistics system
- Interconnected system of systems
- Vehicle sharing
- Supply chain management
- Traffic flow modeling and analysis
Ongoing efforts include enhancing resilience of electric-vehicle-power-grid nexus, reliable biofuel supply chain design, information sharing/management of systems.
