My focus has been on wastewater processes, operations and research. During my 34 years as Operations Engineer for the Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District we constructed several major plant expansions and used research done in conjunction with the University of Wisconsin to help conceive and design new processes. Following retirement from the Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District I worked in consulting engineering on wastewater treatment plant upgrades.
Wastewater technology is still evolving and I hope to help make students who will be working in the field aware that they will need to be open to new and innovative ideas.
