Dr. Muir is the Co-Director of the Comparative Orthopaedic Research Laboratory. His research is focused on functional adaptation of load-bearing connective tissue. Dr. Muir is particularly interested in the biological responses to bone fatigue and the mechanisms that lead to development of fatigue or stress fractures. Dr. Muir is also interested in the mechanisms by which persistent synovitis induces pathological changes in the anterior cruciate ligament and development of progressive ligament rupture.
